Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
If an item is leveled out, it will be eligible for a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the type of item it is. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes for it, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of materials however it will result in a lower chance of success.
To measure the height of a structure, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you would get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also includes number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is a good method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character quicker, which enables you to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be different dimensions, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. more info are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are updated. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant increase in their power. It will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
